Join the Duke Neurodiversity Advocates (DNA) for an open, supportive group discussion about what it means to live with a learning difference or chronic disability. This isn’t a lecture or workshop — it’s a safe, judgment-free space to talk about daily life, coping, identity, and the complicated emotions that come with having a brain or body that doesn’t always cooperate.
Whether you have dyslexia, dyscalculia, EDS, POTS, migraines, post-concussive symptoms, or any condition that shapes how you learn and live — this meeting is for you.
We’ll talk about:
The reality of balancing academics, health, and mental bandwidth
Grief, frustration, and guilt around “not being able to do what others can”
The difference between acceptance and resignation
The constant recalibration of energy, expectations, and self-worth
How to build systems of support and belonging when you feel alone in it
