2/13 Memorization Techniques with Dr. Hard

As we talked about last meeting, this Tuesday we’re hosting Dr. Bridget M. Hard from Duke’s Psychology Department — arguably the best Psych 101 professor ever — for a session on how memory actually works and how to use that knowledge to study smarter, not harder.

Dr. Hard’s lecture on memorization completely changed the way I learn, and it’s especially relevant for those of us who are neurodivergent or have learning differences. Many of us process and retain information differently — maybe we need more repetition, sensory grounding, or structure for recall. This talk is about understanding those differences and finding techniques that work with our brains instead of against them.

If you can’t make it, I highly recommend reading this book that builds on the same science Dr. Hard will discuss:📖 Moonwalking with Einstein: The Art and Science of Remembering Everything🔗 https://www.amazon.com/Moonwalking-Einstein-Science-Remembering-Everything/dp/159420229X

We had this same meeting last spring and many of you have requested Dr. Hard come speak to us again! I hope you all enjoy!

As always our meeting in Rueben Cooke, Rm 207, at 7PM.
