11/23 Neuroinclusive Spaces with Dr. Sam Brandsen

Tomorrow we’re joined by Dr. Sam Brandsen, a researcher and advocate working at the intersection of neuroscience, neurodiversity, and accessibility here at Duke. Dr. Brandsen will share insights from Duke’s ongoing neurodiversity initiatives and discuss how campus environments—from classrooms to common spaces—can be redesigned to better support all kinds of minds.

We’ll explore:

  • What “neuroinclusive design” means and why it matters.

  • How research on sensory and cognitive differences informs accessibility.

  • Current projects at Duke aimed at creating more supportive learning environments.

  • How students can get involved in shaping inclusive campus spaces.

As always we will be meeting in room 207, Rueben Cooke, at 7PM
