10/26 Living with Neurodiversity in the Workplace

Updated: Nov 7, 2025

This week, we’ll be joined by Dr. Christopher Lunsford, a Duke physician and disability inclusion advocate who has firsthand experience navigating academia while living with a chronic health condition.

Dr. Lunsford will share his story of resilience and advocacy—from medical school to clinical practice—and discuss the realities of balancing long-term illness with the demands of higher education.

We’ll talk about:

  • What academic success can look like when managing chronic illness.

  • Navigating professors, policies, and stigma.

  • How to advocate for yourself without burning out.

  • What true inclusion in higher education should mean.
