Hi all! We’re excited to announce that Dr. Matthew Schneps, PhD, scientist and learning differences researcher, will be joining the Duke Neurodiversity Advocates!

Dr. Schneps was diagnosed with dyslexia as an adult—after already building a career as an astrophysicist. His journey showed him that intelligence takes many forms, and that learning differences don’t limit success—they reshape how we approach it. Today, his research focuses on practical strategies and tools (like digital annotation, reading apps, and visual adjustments) that help students with dyslexia, ADHD, and other learning differences thrive.

He’ll be sharing both his personal story and the evidence-based techniques he’s developed to make studying more efficient and less overwhelming.
